Agility
WHAT IS AGILITY?
Agility is a fun dog sport open to all breeds of dog from purebreds to mixed breeds. It is open to people of all ages from juniors to seniors.
The sport involves dogs and handlers learning to safely be able to complete a number of AAC standard course obstacles that would be used in a agility competition trial.
Many people take up the sport as a fun way to bond with their dogs and at the same time make many new friends.
To be able to safely take part in agility just in fun matches or at a national trial takes about a year of training so to help you take part in the sport classes are split into different headings ranging from the first ever “intro to agility” through to the “advanced classes”
Here at the St. Martins kennels we hold the classes on a Sunday evening. There are held in a safe fenced outdoor area or indoors in the training centre.
New next new class is scheduled to start in Spring 2010.Each class consists of 5, 1 hour sessions and includes the chance to sample a AAC standard agility course or a AAC agility game.
The cost of each set of 5 classes is $60.00 (no tax) . It is open to all dogs from 12 months old who do not have aggression problems and have a basic understanding of walking and the sit and stay commands.
Viewing is welcome anytime if you are considering in joining this fun sport.
